Getting Started
Creating Your Account
1Download CommunityXO from the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android), or visit communityxo.com.
2Sign up using your email address or phone number. You'll receive a one-time passcode (OTP) for verification.
3Complete your profile โ add a display name, photo, and short bio. These are visible across all communities you join.
4Start discovering! Browse the Community Marketplace to find and join communities that interest you.
Discovering Communities
The CommunityXO Marketplace lets you search and browse thousands of communities worldwide:
- Search: Use keywords, names, or topics.
- Filter: Narrow by type (religious, educational, professional, etc.), location, language, or size.
- Map view: Find communities near your location.
- Recommendations: AI-powered suggestions based on your profile and interests.
Joining a Community
- Public communities: Tap "Join" for instant access.
- Private communities: Tap "Request to Join" โ a community admin will review your request.
- Invite-only communities: Enter an invite code or use an invite link shared by an existing member.
Creating & Managing Communities
Creating a Community
Any user can create a community. Here's how:
1Go to "My Communities" โ tap "Create Community".
2Choose a community type (educational, religious, professional, social, etc.).
3Set a name, description, logo, and banner. Choose privacy level (public, private, or invite-only).
4Configure features: enable/disable marketplace, donations, events, and geofenced posts as needed.
5Invite members via link, code, or email. Your community is live!
Community Customisation
Community Owners can customise extensively:
- Terminology: Rename "Members" to "Devotees", "Posts" to "Announcements", etc.
- Custom fields: Add required/optional profile fields for members.
- Branding: Set colours, logos, and community themes.
- Roles & permissions: Create custom admin, moderator, and member roles.
- Workflows: Set approval processes for content, events, and marketplace listings.
Geofenced Posts
Community admins can target posts to specific geographic areas:
- Draw a geofence on the map or set a radius around a pin.
- Only members within the geofenced area receive notifications.
- Posts are visible to all members but highlighted for those in the target area.
- Great for local events, weather alerts, or area-specific announcements.
Marketplace
Buying Items
- Browse your community's marketplace or the global CommunityXO marketplace.
- Filter by category, price, condition, and location.
- Tap "Buy Now" or message the seller through the built-in chat.
- Pay securely via Razorpay (India) or Stripe (international).
Selling Items
- Go to Marketplace โ "List an Item".
- Add photos, title, description, price, and category.
- Choose visibility: community-only or public marketplace.
- Items may require admin approval depending on community settings.
- Platform commission: 15% on marketplace transactions.
Payments & Billing
Community Subscriptions
Community Owners can monetise with subscription tiers:
- Free tier with basic features.
- Paid tiers ($99โ$999/month) with advanced features, analytics, and customisation.
- Manage via "Settings" โ "Billing".
Donations
Communities can accept donations from members:
- One-time or recurring donation options.
- Custom donation campaigns with progress tracking.
- Platform commission: 2% on donations.
- Full transparency with donor reports (names optional per community settings).
Payouts
Community Owners receive payouts from marketplace sales, subscriptions, and donations:
- Configure bank account or payment method in "Settings" โ "Payouts".
- Payouts processed on a regular schedule (weekly/monthly).
- Transaction history and reports available for download.
Privacy & Security
Account Security
- OTP-based login โ no passwords to remember or lose.
- Session management โ view and revoke active sessions from "Settings" โ "Security".
- Biometric login (fingerprint/Face ID) on supported devices.
Data Privacy
- Your data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256).
- You control what profile information is shared with each community.
- Download your data anytime: "Settings" โ "Privacy" โ "Export My Data".

Reporting & Blocking
- Report any content: tap "โฎ" โ "Report" and choose a category.
- Block users: "Profile" โ "Block" โ they can no longer interact with you in any community.
- Reports are reviewed within 24 hours. Child safety reports are prioritised.
Troubleshooting
App Not Loading
- Check your internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data).
- Force-close the app and reopen.
- Clear app cache: device Settings โ Apps โ CommunityXO โ Clear Cache.
- Update to the latest version from your app store.
Not Receiving Notifications
- Ensure notifications are enabled in device Settings โ Notifications โ CommunityXO.
- Check in-app notification preferences: "Settings" โ "Notifications".
- Check if "Do Not Disturb" mode is active on your device.
Can't Join a Community
- Private community: Your join request may still be pending admin approval.
- Invite-only: You need a valid invite code or link.
- Age restricted: Some communities have minimum age requirements.
- Geo-restricted: Some communities are limited to specific regions.
Payment Issues
- Verify your card or UPI details.
- Check if your bank has blocked online transactions.
- For failed transactions, refunds are processed within 5โ7 business days.

Account Management
Editing Your Profile
Go to "Profile" โ "Edit Profile". You can change your display name, photo, bio, and other visible details. Platform-level profile changes apply across all your communities.
Deleting Your Account
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data. See our Account Deletion page for step-by-step instructions.
